Mountain refuge in the Font Roja for a sculptor

Built     -     House     -     2011

Faced with large old farmhouse Park of Font Roja, found a cluster of small buildings that have more to do with a situation of temporary retirement with a second home, this shelter is one of them.

This project stems from two parameters, first the customer's need to support two programs, retirement and sculpture, and second, the location and landscape where it belongs. Resulting in an architectural object:

- Self-sufficient as regards energy management and waste, recycling of water, and air conditioning, through inter alia the introduction of mesh traps fog, snow pits, separated networks and re-use and cross ventilation and walls and roofs Trombe.

- Programmable one space can be redefined and reused in real time, which can accommodate from the sculptor in a "lonely dream" to a family reunion.

- With an intimate relationship with their landscape next, which is inserted between the tops of the pines as an artificial object capable of being colonized by mosses and lichens in the area, thereby achieving a color mimicry with the landscape.

Understood as a contemplative but not as a place of experimentation, a place to find ways and thoughts ...
